Biographical note زينب مرعي - مواليد بيروت، عام 1986. حائزة شهادة ماجستير في اللغة الفرنسيّة وآدابها من كليّة الآداب والعلوم الإنسانيّة في الجامعة اللبنانيّة. عملت وكتبت في الصحافة اللبنانيّة والعربيّة منذ عام 2005 حتى عام 2015. «الهاوية» هي روايتها الأولى.-The Lebanese civil war may have officially ended on the ground, but it continues to rage in the mind of young Suhail. In his thoughts, events, scenes, and timelines blend together, and every emotion seems to carry its opposite: a love-hate dynamic towards his older brother, a perpetual suspicion of his wife, who cares for him but whom he suspects of secretly waiting for his death, and an old lover who might have forgotten his name but whose ghost still lingers, an elusive figure in his relentless search. His headaches are excruciating, and the ringing in his ears deafening. Where can he find refuge? His sole desire now is to retreat into the confines of a simple eggshell! He hopes that, there, the voices would finally cease, and he would find some respite and peace.
