Biographical note كاتب ورسّام لبناني-أميركي، في رصيده خمس روايات أشهرها «الحكواتي». حاز جوائز عدّة من بينها غوغنهايم فيلوشيب (2002)، وروما برايز (2009). عام 2016، نالت روايته «امرأة لا لزوم لها»، وهي الثانية عن دار نوفل، بعد «أنا سارة، سارة أنا»، جائزة فيمينا الفرنسية الرفيعة عن فئة الرواية الأجنبيّة.-Not much happens in Rabee Al-Amin's new novel. There is no intricately woven plot, no whirlpools where characters get lost, and no events that steal the reader's breath. Literature is what happens in this novel. Literature in which is molded a complete life, a ghost inhabiting a woman who has lived through it. A woman whose hair is blue, but whose soul is colored with all the hues. A woman who is quiet, but whose heart is pulsating with all the books she devoured, all the characters she loved, and all the sentences that pained her. This is a long dialogue between a solitary woman, wrapped in the autumn of her life, and her fragmented past haunted by war, music, her infatuation with philosophy and art, and her contemplations that intersect with every passing event. She is more than a woman, she is less than a woman, she is every woman, she is a metaphor.
